Vanessa Vaughn, a student of life since 1976, has studied acting for 20 years, dance for 30, and photography for 18. She also has numerous directing, producing, stage-managing and costuming credits. Her passion for her artistic pursuits gains momentum with each passing year. A self-proclaimed renaissance woman, Vanessa feels that the breadth of her creative endeavors makes her an extremely versatile and connected performer and a challenging yet nurturing teacher.

Since 1995 Vanessa has bounced from 11 cities in 7 states to work in countless theatrical productions, independent and feature films, dance concerts, commercials, voice-over spots and music videos. However, Vanessa's greatest love is the stage. Her favorite roles include Valerie in The Weir (The Warehouse Theatre, South Carolina); Suzanne in Picasso at the Lapin Agile (The Sanford Meisner Theatre, NYC); Olivia in Twelfth Night (The Franklin Theatre, Virginia); Ariel in Wintertime (The Round House Theatre, Maryland); Showgirl and Co-host for the Helen Hayes Awards 2006 (The Warner Theatre, Washington, DC); and The Stepmother in Cinderella: A Rock and Romance Ballet (The El Portal Theatre, North Hollywood).

Vanessa is very excited to share her techniques in this new class, The 7 Senses. She believes the greatest teachers are not only the most honest performers, but also the hardest working students. She is ecstatic to embark upon this journey and looks forward to all she will learn from those who accompany her.

“It is my belief that an actor has to be a combination of thinking/planning and feeling/reacting. Everything has to be new, nothing is to be ignored, yet we have to walk stage right and sit down as directors or playwrights will tell us. So we have to be in the moment with all of our senses super-aware, use our minds to remember things like lines and stage directions, AND do this without appearing as though we are "trying". --VV
