MAINSTAGE
Currently in production is WHY FACTOR: PROPORTION DISTORTION
WORKSHOPS
The Ensemble works vigorously with the Viewpoints, originally developed for dance by choreographer Mary Overlie in the 1970's, and later adapted for the stage by Tina Landau and Anne Bogart. Loft Ensemble explores the individual viewpoints in evening workshops that last from 2-3 hours. Open workshops are held monthly.
SCENE STUDY
Continual exercising of craft is crucial for the development of the ensemble. On-going scene study is held weekly, and the public is encouraged to audit if space permits.
WRITING LABS
Development of new work is a constant, collaborative process. Loft Ensemble Writing Labs offer the opportunity for the ensemble to support and critique one another as they explore writing for the stage. Labs are not open to the public, but are open to members of the ongoing workshop.
THE WHY FACTOR
Created by Christina Howard in 2006, The Why Factor debuted on the Knightsbridge Theatre stage to exciting results. A project that encourages women to write, The Why Factor boasts many first-time writers taking the stage to perform their own work. Extremely personal, often profound, and always entertaining, the Why Factor performance ensemble has now expanded to include men, steering the subject matter to new heights and reaching out to a broader audience.
